WWSET partnership with Wycombe Women’s Aid

21 Jan WWSET partnership with Wycombe Women’s Aid

Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust (the charitable arm of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club) has recently formed a partnership with the national domestic violence charity Wycombe Women’s Aid.

This sees the football club actively denounce domestic violence in all its forms as well as help to raise awareness of domestic violence and the negative impact it has on those individuals affected by it.

As part of this newly formed partnership a free “Football United Against Domestic Violence” educational and interactive workshop has been designed for delivery to local school children.

The workshop aims to provide an interactive and interesting way for children to learn about healthy relationships, the dangers of domestic abuse and ways to keep them safe.

Following the workshop all children should be able to identify types of abusive behaviour, understand what behaviour is healthy and not healthy, and know where to get help and how to stay safe should they ever be at risk.

Domestic abuse affects 1:3 women, a statistic which highlights the importance of preventative education on the issue.
