This Wednesday saw staff from the Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust attend the fantastic Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP) and Equality Training delivered by our good friends at Buckinghamshire County Council.

Prevent is part of the government counter-terrorism strategy, it’s designed to tackle the problem of terrorism at its roots, preventing people from supporting terrorism or becoming involved in terrorism themselves.

WRAP training will give WWSET

  • An understanding of the Prevent strategy and your role within it
  • The ability to use existing expertise and professional judgment to recognise the vulnerable individuals who may need support
  • Local safeguarding and referral mechanisms and people to contact for further help and advice.

The Equality Training will help WWSET have a systematic approach to implementing good equality and diversity practice. The training covered all issues relating to equality, diversity and social inclusion, supporting WWSET develop awareness, understanding and skills to promote equality and tackle discrimination.
