More success for the WWSET!!

25 Apr More success for the WWSET!!

Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust enjoyed a fantastic start to the BRAND NEW Saturday Morning Football Club @ John Hampden Grammar School on Saturday 16th April. 25 children braved the cold weather and the elements in High Wycombe to enjoy some Saturday morning football fun with the WWSET coaching staff. The aim of the Saturday Morning Club is to provide a fun environment where young players can develop their confidence and talent whilst playing football, with the children being placed into groups of a similar age bracket and ability to ensure maximum levels of improvement and enjoyment. Players benefit from technique & skills coaching, fun games and competitions across a variety of differently themed sessions, with a brand new theme being delivered every week, covering all aspects of football development. In addition, these sessions are a great opportunity to make new friends whilst playing the beautiful game. As well as learning new skills, children are also taught the values of sportsmanship & teamwork so they not only become better footballers but better human beings.

As a special treat to launch the brand new session, all of the children that attended the first week received 2 FREE tickets to the Wycombe Wanderers League 2 fixture against Barnet FC.

Any child aged 4-11 is welcome to attend these sessions and for more information, as well as details on how to book for the session in High Wycombe, please click on the following link…

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday morning!!

Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust enjoyed another hugely successful Easter holiday break as we delivered 8 holiday courses over 2 weeks to over 260 children from all over Berks & Bucks. Not only were WWSET able to provide more of our highly rated holiday courses in High Wycombe, Maidenhead, Chesham & Beaconsfield, but we further continued our commitment to raising money for grassroots football by holding WWSET & Junior Football Club Partnership Holiday Courses with a number of grassroots football clubs in Bucks. A percentage of the total funds raised from the partnership course goes straight back to the junior football club. The funds raised provide a vital injection of funds to the junior football club which can then go on to fund the purchase of kits, equipment or even to fund important repairs to club facilities. Last Summer alone WWSET raised over £2,000 for Junior Football Clubs in Bucks and we hope to far exceed that target this year.

WWSET Activity Programme Manager, Andrew Homent added “Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust are committed to increasing opportunities for sports participation in our local communities and our Partnership Holiday Courses are just one of the ways that we can do that. We hold numerous courses in the various locations in Berkshire & Buckinghamshire but we do service a very large county. The Partnership Holiday Courses allow us to tap in to those areas that may not have as much access to Wycombe Wanderers over the year and provide them with an opportunity to experience the benefits of a WWSET delivered holiday course, such as the excellent coaching and delivery from our fully accredited FA/UEFA coaching staff, opportunities to be scouted for the WWSET Elite & Development Academy and the opportunity to raise those much needed funds for their own football club”
