19 Oct INTER MOSQUE LEAGUE – MATCHDAY 3
Reading 11 v 2 Maidenhead
Matchday 3 saw Maidenhead and Reading make their bows in the mosque league. The match proved to be a free-flowing and entertaining game between the two. Maidenheads started the match brighter and were the much sharper team than their Reading counterparts in the opening minutes of the match with their crisp passing and movement. They took the lead through an exceptional well worked team goal. This seems to awake the Reading team up and from that moment onwards they got a foothold on the game and started to play some excellent football to take control of the match. Once they had gone 4-1 up, they started to do the flicks, tricks and the nutmegs in the match and started to really enjoy themselves. It showed that Reading was a team that had been playing together for some time, while their Maidenhead counterparts had formed a team and were not use to playing 7 a side regular. Having said this, Maidenhead did show courage, heart and great attitude and never gave up, which will keep them in good stead going forward and showed that they will be up for the fight. As the league goes on, they will get better and improve as they have some very good players. Reading ran out eventually winners 11-2 and will be one of the favorites for the title.
