Girls Talent ID Day

24 Jul Girls Talent ID Day

After an unbelievable second our Girls Elite Development Academy (Girls EDA) are expanding our offering to more players. We are holding another talent ID day to recruit more talented young players and help them improve their football skills. We are also now offering goalkeeping specific coaching! So if you have the next Karen Bardsley at home get her along to the talent ID day!

Our primary aim at the Girls EDA is to create a positive learning environment in which develops players; technically, physically, socially and psychologically at every stage of their development. We also aim to be innovative and inclusive with our coaching techniques in order to maximise the learning of all the players we work with.

Our philosophy is based on the encouragement of ‘technical grooving’ through the repetition of challenging and focused practice, as well as the creation of an environment that encourages freedom to express individuality without fear of failure. We believe that by creating an environment in which a player can express themselves, be positive and have fun; this will have a huge impact and enhance the learning that takes place.

This season alone we’ve inspired, educated and motivated our players through our challenging coaching sessions; having player appearances from our Women’s 1st team, meeting an Olympic gold medallist and world cup winner in Arsenal’s Heather O’Reilly, they’ve been ball girls at the WWFC 1st team game and they were flag bearers at the Women’s Continental Cup Final, to name but a few of the extra opportunities the girls have had this season.

We’ve played in some amazing fixtures played home and away against Reading, Arsenal, Chelsea, MK Dons, Norwich, Bournemouth, Oxford United and Northampton Town, resulting in some unbelievable performances and our girls projecting their skills for all to see. Finally, the players and parents also have the chance to get some invaluable feedback from their coaches 1 on 1, as they come to Adam’s Park for our half-year and end of season reviews, in which the players will receive a full report detailing their strengths and areas to improve.

If you’re your daughter would like to be a part of our fantastic Girls Elite Development Academy, here’s how you can help them achieve their goal.

We look forward to seeing you there!
