GX Bowling Trip
Gerrard’s Cross Youth Club took some of its members on a trip to High Wycombe Hollywood Bowling Arena during the Easter Break. This was the 1st trip of the youth club and is something that the Youth Club Leader, Aqeel Akram, had been speaking to the members about doing for a while during session times. We discussed with the young people what they would like to do and after building up a list of trips and activities, we chose to go bowling for our 1st trip.
It was to encourage them to come out of the Youth Club environment, as a group to have fun, enjoy and enhance their knowledge and development.
Taking them out of their comfort zone is something we as a Youth Club will try to do during their school holidays, just to build their social skills and enhance their environment. On top of this, it was to keep them occupied during their school break, give parents an option of having a break from them, give the young people something to look forward too and enjoy.
The trip was very enjoyable; the young people had a fantastic time and wanted to have more time at the arena playing bowling. The Trip included transport from youth club to bowling arena and back, a game of bowling along with a kid’s meal. After the game and meal, the young people spent some time in an arcade playing area playing on some games till we had to head back.
The Feedback was very positive and hopefully the Youth club will be doing more trips during the school holidays for the members of the youth club.
