17 Jan COLCHESTER UNITED PROGRAMME WORDS
WWSET Colchester United
Good afternoon Chairboys fans, and welcome to today’s fixture against Colchester United. We hope that both you and the Colchester fans who have travelled today to Adams Park have a pleasant afternoon.
In today’s WWSET programme notes we would like to update everyone on one of the fantastic projects that WWSET have been delivering since January 2017; the Premier League Girls Programme.
WWSET are currently midway through their second year of running the Premier League Girls (PL Girls) project. We would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about the project, about some of the highlights so far and how you can get involved…
The PL Girl’s project is an initiative that works in partnership with Professional football club community trusts and The FA for females 11+ to engage in fun and inspiring sessions with the use of a football, as well as to help double participation within the sport by 2020.
The Premier League values underpin the objectives of this project:
- To increase the number of women and girls playing football on a regular basis.
- To increase the opportunities for women and girls to develop skills and confidence and progress within the pathway as a player, coach or official.
As well as this WWSET have come up with some more values in order to help the project remain a success and offer the best possible experience for all those involved:
- Realising potential
- Inspiring ambition
- Developing skills
- Creating opportunities.
WWSET’s success last year, with 200 girls engaged from January – August 17 as well as a glow in the dark tournament which hosted both Reading and Arsenal community trusts, using different sessions in schools, colleges and partnering up with a local weight watchers group, this season is sure to grow even more.
So far this season 17/18 WWSET have managed to engage 191 girls, double our proposed target, through sessions ran in local schools & colleges as well as delivering a mobility class with a football and a SEN session.
As well as this WWSET ran a SEN girls tournament in October in which girls from SEN schools from Berks & Bucks were invited to join. The tournament saw a turnout of three schools from girls aged between 11 – 16 years and was a great experience for all involved.
WWSET also have been involved with the Marlow bottom girl guides/ rangers to deliver football taster sessions for them during September and October. These taster sessions were fun and engaging for all and the girls received WWSET Tolley badges at the end.
In other news, don’t forget to book onto our February half term Soccer Schools. The experience is highly regarded and offers great value and great memories for the children who attend. Every participant will receive professional football coaching from our UEFA and FA licensed coaches, opportunities to win daily prizes, a special ‘end of course’ gift, 2 FREE TICKETS to see WWFC at Adams Park and an opportunity to impress and gain a trial with our WWFC Elite & Development Academy. The courses also promise to be a great way for youngsters to burn off all the extra calories consumed in their selection packs over the festive period.

To go alongside our Soccer Schools, WWSET also deliver our ever increasingly popular Saturday Morning Club at the John Hampden Grammar School throughout the academic year. This session runs from 9.30-11.00 every Saturday morning and is open to all children aged 4-11 to come and have some fun, make some friends and work on their skills within practices & small sided games. We are very well subscribed with 40 children attending the session weekly and we are ready to welcome many more! If you are interested in joining us then please visit the page below to book your place:
Finally, all that’s left to say is we hope that you enjoy today’s match and the team manages to get another win on the board!
C’MON THE CHAIRBOYS!
