Wycombe Wanderers – Amersham Town partnership

22 Sep Wycombe Wanderers – Amersham Town partnership

WWSET are now a month into our new project representing Wycombe Wanderers/Amersham Town in the u18s SCYL. We have been thoroughly impressed with the way that the players have embraced the challenge of playing in a league in which many of them are giving away 1 if not 2 years against most of their opposition. After dominating most of their Elite matches representing Wycombe Wanderers EDA, we have now found a very valid platform to continue their development and understanding of the game.

These are all key areas we should see enhanced by the players in the coming months.

PATHWAY TO SENIOR FOOTBALL

Ultimately what our new project brings is a pathway into senior football. As the link between the U18s and the Amersham First XI is an obvious one. To this end, we are already seeing success stories occur.

Elliot Britton who was part of the Wycombe Wanderers Elite U16s programme last season has had 2 substitute appearances for the first XI before playing a full 90mins on Tue 19th September helping them secure a victory in the Wycombe senior cup Vs Chalfont Wasps.

Also Due to his very progressive performances so far for the U18s, Max Bowles has been selected to feature in this weekend’s 1st team game vs Tring Corinthians
All in all, this is an exciting project which could give the opportunity for a number of our players to get their first insight into senior football over the next year or two.

WATCH VIDEOS

Where possible, we will try and film the games so that the players have an opportunity for further development at their fingers to study their progression.

Finally a Big thank you to the parents for taking on board the commuting of the players to the fixtures – without you none of this is possible.
