PL Primary Stars Programme

Premier League Primary Stars Programme (PLPS) is the Premier League’s flagship schools programme, aiming to provide sports teaching assistance in some form to all primary schools in England and Wales.

The programme supplements the existing programmes provided by other professional football clubs in mentoring pupils and school staff. PLPS offers a range of bespoke curriculum-linked teaching resources aimed at Key Stages 1 and 2, including lesson plans, activity ideas, work sheets and video content, in order to improve the children’s literacy, numeracy and PSHE skills, while enhancing the teachers’ PE lessons.

The Premier League Primary Stars Programme consists of 5 core elements of delivery, these are:

  • Targeted Group Numeracy Interventions.
  • Targeted Group Literacy Interventions.
  • Full Class PSHE Interventions.
  • Teacher CPD for PE Delivery.
  • Social Action Groups to Create Positive Social Change

For our delivery model, one of our Primary Stars team members will be based in school for a whole day, once a week, for a 10-week term. During the day, as well as providing bespoke classroom support for pupils and a detailed 10-week mentoring programme for teachers, our Premier League Primary Stars team will deliver lunch time and after-school club for under-represented groups.

WWSET aims to provide children and teachers with the mentoring and engagement they require to thrive in a school and sporting environment, through the power of the Premier League brand.

We at WWSET want to be flexible with your school’s needs and circumstances. To do this, the Premier League Primary Stars Programme can be constructed to fulfil your school’s needs and to support where we can.

If you would like to read more about what you can expect in a 10 week block of delivery on the PLPS Programme, please read the Schools Information PDF Booklet via the link below:
