MEET THE TRUSTEES | STEVE EDGAR

STEVE EDGAR

Chair of Trustees of the Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust

Male Placeholder

In late 2013 Steve retired from Buckinghamshire County Council where he was the Head of the Learning Trust which oversees the educational provision across the county. Before joining the Children’s Services Team at County Hall in 2003 Steve was a secondary school Headteacher for 13 years and spent a total of 27 years working in schools across three different local authorities in London and the south-east.

Steve’s involvement with the Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust followed the partnership that was established initially between the County Council and WWFC to develop a ‘Playing for Success’ centre. This has developed into the highly successful Matrix Study Support and Learning Centre based at Adams Park. Steve is instrumental in developing opportunities for the Trust to have a positive impact not just on sporting outcomes, but also in creating educational and personal development opportunities for children and young people.

In his spare time Steve has been a season ticket holder at WWFC for many years and he enjoys standing on the terraces and supporting the team both home and away, whenever possible.
