12 Jun WWSET will Keep Moving Forward!!
WWSET are extremely pleased to announce we have just been granted some funding from the Sports Council Trust Company to support our Keep Moving Forward Project.
The Keep Moving Forward Project is designed to support people living with mental health conditions and to provide sessions that promote well-being, meeting new people, building up skills, improving confidents and keeping active. With the generous funding we have been able to organise four sessions which will run over the next year, these are:
Every Monday from 11am – 12pm, we will deliver this active mindfulness session.
Indian Clubs is a great exercise for active mindfulness. The clubs also help develop strength, mobility and coordination.
They consist of bowling pin shaped clubs of varying weights, which are swung in certain patterns as part of a strength or mobility exercise programme.
Well Being Walk
Every Tuesday from 11am-1pm, we always meet at the same place, at Wycombe Lido, just by the car park just a little way up from the Tennis Courts.
This walk gives people the opportunity to meet a friendly group of people who are all on a recovery journey, the walk helps to keep people active and walk and talk with people who can support them. It is a very relaxed environment and we even stop for a cup of tea on the way around.
Every Wednesday 11am-12:30pm WWSET in partnership with The Community Grow Project will deliver an community allotment session.
Grow is a community allotment session. Learn how to grow all different type of fruit, veg and plants. There’s lots of different types on jobs to do, sowing seeds, watering plants, weeding, laying slabs, painting sheds, work inside shed to hang tools safely, and building a seating area near the river.
Join a great team of growers and see if you can develop your green finger skills.
Every Thursday 2pm- 3pm WWSET in partnership with Everything Yoga will deliver this yoga session.
Yoga is a fun, creative, challenging, mindful and balancing experience, merging different elements and styles.
Yoga is a way to both improve your flexibility and strength as well as a form of meditation, grounding and breathing work.
We hope these sessions can support our members to improve their mental health, boost their mood, improve their relationship with physical activity and provide them with a support network where they can thrive.
