13 May FFIT has Heart!
WWSET have proudly delivered six Football Fans In Training (FFIT) courses since May 2017 which have seen 66 men graduate the courses and accumulatively lose an incredible 371.44kg and 445cm from their waists. FFIT’S main aims are too:
1. Increase knowledge of diet and nutrition
2. Improve lifestyle choices
3. Increase physical activity amongst participants
4. Reduce weight and waist measurements
5. Increase engagement in other physical activity
It is safe to say FFIT is a successful weight management programme, however, WWSET sees it as so much more. In addition to the amazing weight loss we have seen 6 groups of men become great friends, improve their confidence and improve their mental health (with 83% of the participants improving their mental health score).
WWSET could not have delivered these 6 courses without the vital funding received from The Sports Council Trust Company over the past two years, for which we are extremely thankful!
We are now set to deliver three more courses, including one specifically to help people seeking to improve their mental health, plus introducing our first ever female course which starts in September 2019. The organisations providing WWSET with the funds to deliver the upcoming three courses are Heart Of Bucks (www.heartofbucks.org) and LEAP (www.leapwithus.org.uk) so a big thanks to both for their generous support.
FFIT goes from strength to strength but as a charity we still heavily rely on vital funding to ensure we deliver the best services for our community so thanks once again to The Sports Council Trust Company, Heart of Bucks and Leap!
