Elite Development Academy (EDA)

Wycombe Wanderers Football Club has an excellent reputation for developing young football players and preparing them for careers in the professional game.
In recent years several Wycombe Wanderers youth team players have graduated to play at Premiership and Championship level – Matt Phillips (QPR), Jordon Ibe (Liverpool), Mike Williamson (Newcastle), Roger Johnson (West Ham United), Kadeem Harris (Cardiff City), Charles Dunne (Blackpool), Matt Ingram(QPR) and Russell Martin (Norwich City) to name a few.
The main aim of the Elite Development Academy has always been to minimise the difference in standards between the strongest grassroots players and the level required to be signed by a professional clubs academy.
The WWSET Elite Centre runs squads in the U6s – U15s age groups and participants receive up to four hours of professional coaching each week.
Further to the training programme, and in order to maximise the participant’s development, players also take part in a comprehensive games program during school holidays against other professional football clubs such as Reading, Oxford Utd and Northampton Town amongst others. Over the years the WWEDA has developed a fantastic reputation for producing young talented footballers through the quality of our coaching sessions which run in accordance with our football philosophy. This philosophy is based around the encouragement of technical grooving through the repetition of challenging and focused practice, as well as the creation of an environment that encourages freedom to express individuality without fear of failure. We are extremely proud of the fact that in excess of 75 players have graduated from our EDA Academy to professional club academy’s including Chelsea, Arsenal, Reading and Tottenham Hotspur, at various age groups, and are hopefully well on their way to future careers playing at the highest level.

The AIMS of the Elite Development Academy;

To stretch & challenge talented players thus giving them the opportunity to progress as footballers and reach their full potential.

To provide the highest quality of football coaching to all participants.

To assist in shaping good people as well as good players (such as team work, respect, communication, fair play).
